You suspect mold somewhere in your house, but you can’t tell how bad it is or where it’s really coming from. Maybe you spotted a dark patch on a ceiling, maybe there’s a musty smell that won’t leave, or maybe a home inspector flagged "possible moisture damage" without saying what that actually meant. A proper mold inspection tells you what’s happening behind your walls and under your floors, not just what’s visible on the surface. We can get a certified inspector out to your Birmingham property fast and give you straight answers.

“A huge burden bars across the US experienced at the start of the pandemic was the need for quick, affordable and most certainly, effective sanitization. There were so many unknowns with COVID19. So many ways we were being challenged daily to adhere to the safest measures possible while working to garner any revenue possible during the lockdown. PM came through for us on a few occasions to help ensure we were doing all we could for our patrons but most importantly for our staff.”
“Zach was professional, kind, funny and one on of the best I've ever encountered in any line of work. He was knowledgeable and made it feel like he was there helping as a friend. Thank you Zach you are amazing!”
“Very professional and knowledgeable people. I would highly recommend.”
“I had Zach Hocutt come out to my house for an inspection in my main bathroom and I was absolutely blown away by his professionalism and mainly his kindness! As a homeowner, it can be so nerve wrecking when something is wrong or broken but Zach eased all of those feelings for me! He was so easy to talk to (was great with my dog too!) and made me feel so comfortable which is important when having someone unknown come into your home. I hated that I had the need to call Pure Air, but now I’m so glad I did! (I wish they offered more services just so I could have them come out again!)”
“Awesome experience with Pure Maintenance of AL. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I was notified days in advance of appointments and the day of to confirm so as to not waste my time. They showed up and performed the work as promised. I have serious medical issues concerning mold and they were able to come out, assess the issue and perform the work necessary to rid my home of the mold and endotoxins that prevented me from living inside the home. I would highly recommend Chad and his team as they are the leading experts in AL that I have come across. Thank you Pure Maintenance.”
“They were very detailed with their evaluation of our problems. Did a great job of explaining what environmental factors contributed to the mold problem. Quoted the remediation almost immediately and performed the work exactly like they described. I would definitely recommend them if you are experiencing mold problems.”
An inspection makes sense whenever you know something’s off but can’t see the full picture. Maybe you spotted mold in one room and want to know where else it’s hiding. Maybe you had a slow leak or heavy AC condensation last summer and you’re wondering what the moisture has been doing to the drywall. Or you’re buying a house in Homewood, Vestavia, or Mountain Brook and the general inspector noted possible mold without explaining what kind or how much. Alabama humidity does real damage over time. We regularly find problems in crawl spaces, behind insulation, around HVAC plenums, and in attics where bathroom fans were vented the wrong way. Waiting only lets it spread, and remediation gets more expensive the longer the moisture source goes unfixed.
Our inspectors are NORMI-trained and have spent years on houses across the Birmingham metro. Every visit starts with a walkthrough inside and out. We look for visible mold, water staining, condensation patterns, and anything in the construction that tends to trap moisture. Then we bring out the tools. Moisture meters read what’s happening inside wall cavities, subfloors, and ceilings so we find wet spots even when the surface feels dry. Hygrometers measure humidity in crawl spaces and attics where mold likes to set up. Thermal imaging points us toward cold spots and hidden leaks a normal walkthrough would miss. When it’s warranted, we collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab. You get a written report covering what we found, what’s causing it, and what to do next.
What you pay depends on the size of the property and how much ground we need to cover. A single-room assessment is a different job from a full inspection of a four-bedroom house with a crawl space and attic. We give you clear pricing before we start and we stick to it. No surprise add-ons, no pressure to sign up for anything extra. You’re paying for certified training and diagnostic tools a general contractor doesn’t carry. The real value is the experience to trace mold back to its moisture source instead of just documenting what’s visible.
An inspection is only as good as the person doing it. Our NORMI-certified team knows Birmingham houses because we’ve been inside hundreds of them. We know what Alabama humidity does to crawl spaces, how older foundations in Forest Park and Crestwood hold moisture, and why so many 1960s and 70s ranch homes have the same attic ventilation issues. Same-day service is usually available, and every inspection is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If your home needs remediation, we’ll explain why. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too.
Don’t guess about what’s in your house. Call us at (866) 928-5551 to schedule a Birmingham mold inspection and get real answers about what’s going on behind your walls. Someone will actually pick up the phone, and we can usually be at your property the same day.
The first step is a free telephone consultation with a specialist. It helps you understand why you have mold, the causes, and what can be done about it — including Pure Air Alabama services, availability, and pricing.
