“Randy Dalton truly impressed me with his honesty. He came out for an inspection and, instead of trying to sell me something I didn’t need, they were upfront and told me no service was necessary. It’s rare to find a company that puts integrity before profit. I’ll recommend them to anyone because I know they’ll be treated with honesty and respect.”
“I can’t say enough good things about Randy Dalton, and Pure Air of Alabama! From the very beginning, his professionalism and attention to detail stood out. They took the time to explain the entire process in a way that made sense and gave me peace of mind. What impressed me most was how thorough their work was every step was done with care, and they used advanced technology to ensure the mold, spores, and mycotoxins were fully addressed.”

“Randy is amazing. He is honest and upfront about the issues going on. He was personal and we enjoyed every second of our experience with him. We look forward to working with him.”
“Chad did a comprehensive evaluation of an area in our home suspect of a mold issue. He had all the equipment he needed to determine and isolate the areas that were wet and harbored mold. Before he left we had a plan in place and are grateful for his expertise . If you suspect a mold issue, do yourself a favor and call Chad, he will resolve your issue.”
“Randy did a phenomenal job at getting me the correct information and was honest about my root cause. He went out out his way to set me up with another company for a dehumidifier system. I will be highly recommending this company to anybody and everybody.”
A few situations make testing the obvious next step. You smell that damp, musty odor but can’t find the source. Someone in the house has ongoing sinus trouble or asthma flare-ups that ease up when they spend a weekend away. You had a roof leak or a burst pipe and want to know if mold moved in after everything dried out. You’re buying or selling a home and need something documented about the air quality. You’re a landlord dealing with a tenant complaint. Or you paid for remediation already and want proof the work actually held.
Birmingham’s weather does half the work for the mold. Summer humidity hangs around for months, and spring storms dump inches of rain in hours that crawl spaces and attics never fully dry out from.
We don’t use drugstore kits or guess at it from across the room. We take air samples, and surface samples when something looks off, and both go to an independent certified lab. The air samples measure what’s actually in your indoor air and compare it against an outdoor control sample taken the same day. That comparison is the whole point. Spores exist everywhere outside, so the question isn’t whether any are in your house, it’s whether the species and concentrations inside point to something growing that shouldn’t be.
You get the actual lab report in your hands. It shows which species were found, at what concentration, and how your indoor numbers stack up against the outdoor baseline. You can take it to a doctor, hand it to an insurance adjuster, or file it with a real estate transaction. Most jobs wrap up a few days after the lab receives the samples.
Testing is one of the cheapest steps in the whole mold process, and it’s the one that tells you whether you actually need to spend money on anything else. Price depends on how many samples we pull, which comes down to the square footage of your home and how many areas you’re worried about. A one-room concern costs less than a whole-house assessment with several suspected spots. You’ll get a clear number from us before we collect a single sample, with no hidden fees or invoices that creep up after the work is done.
Plenty of remediation companies offer free testing as a way to get in the door and sell you the cleanup. That’s a conflict of interest, because the company deciding if you have a problem is the one profiting from treating it. We use independent labs, and you see the full report. If results come back clean, we’ll tell you. We’ve tested homes across Jefferson and Shelby County for years, so we know what local humidity tends to hide. If there’s a real issue, we walk you through the options, including our VaPURE remediation process, backed by our satisfaction guarantee.
